“Historians and scholars will have Duane Tudahl to thank for the meticulous effort he has brought to understanding Prince Rogers Nelson through the lens of how he spent his days.”
“Thank you Duane for keeping Prince and all of our hard work and legacy alive”
“Hands down, the most extensive study of the most crucial period of Prince’s career.”
“Duane Tudahl's work researching Prince's life is a revelation, and with his second book Tudahl goes even deeper into the daily activities of Prince at his most visible, pressurized, and prolific. Prince and the Parade/Sign O' The Times Era Studio Sessions is such an invaluable resource that you'll wonder how you ever tried navigating this transformative period of Prince's work without it.”
“Reading Duane Tudahl’s book will give you a scholarly look into a creative’s mind. And you know the work coming from Duane is top notch. It’s a singular and superlative work.”
“My favorite Prince book ever.”
“I have often wondered if the legacy of Prince would remain in good hands. After reading Duane Tudahl’s works I am sure it is."
“Duane Tudahl has a potent powerful mind. His ability to connect person, place and thing is worthy of a music historian and archivist medal. I’m thrilled he’s continuing his work with Prince’s music history and keeping it clear and readily available to the next generation of musicians and fans who would benefit from this extraordinary artist Prince, and how he worked and created. Enjoy!”
“Prince and the Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions: 1983-1984 is such an incredible read. Duane has done a fabulous job at sticking to the facts as they were presented. I highly recommend it and look forward to the next studio session books.”
“I don’t give a lot of interviews about my tenure working for Prince as most authors I’ve found are interested in band drama more than the music and how it was created. Duane on the other hand is only interested in getting the accurate facts and reporting them.”
“My brother, Alan Leeds, is known as the ‘official’ archivist for James Brown. So I know what it takes to assemble an authoritative discography. Duane Tudahl is to the music of Prince what Alan Leeds is to the music of James Brown.”
“Incredibly insightful and revealing. This is the first book that I recognized the Prince that I knew.”
